This mini-course guides you step by step to gently reset the balance so your child becomes more cooperative, builds accountability, and contributes positively to family life. Most importantly, it helps your child feel useful and recognize how capable they truly are.

I’ve Lived This, Too

When my son was younger, he was diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. Mornings were exhausting, evenings could spiral into battles, and it felt like our whole home revolved around his behavior.

At the same time, I was working in a school for students with serious behavior challenges, so I was dealing with inflexibility and defiance both at work and at home. There was no break, and it took a toll.

As a single parent, I fell into threatening punishments just to get him to comply. It worked for a while, until it didn’t, and then I had nothing left. That is when I realized I needed a different way forward.

Through that process I developed practical tools that helped my son cooperate more and begin to feel capable. Later I saw that these same tools worked for families everywhere, supported by research on oppositional and inflexible behaviors. Today, families in more than 50 countries use these strategies to create calmer homes.

I’m Ryan Wexelblatt, LCSW, a licensed therapist, former school social worker, and a parent of a son diagosed with ADHD and ODD who has been through this. I started ADHD Dude to give families the clear and realistic strategies I wish I had when my son was younger.
