Creating Daily Expectations Course
[Three courses, based on age]
What is the Creating Daily Expectations Course?
The Creating Daily Expectations Course assists parents in establishing clear, realistic expectations tailored to their child's developmental level, leading to improved behavior, increased cooperation, and a greater willingness to help around the house.
Course Versions:
(All are included in the ADHD Dude membership.)
- Ages 4–7
- Ages 8–11
- Ages 12–17
Parents of children with ADHD often fall into a pattern known as “high giving, low expectations.” In this scenario, children receive numerous privileges but lack responsibilities. Over time, this can lead to conflict, inflexibility, and a lack of cooperation within the home.
This course guides parents in resetting that pattern, fostering cooperation, accountability, and consideration for family members.
Who is this for?
This course is designed for parents and caregivers struggling with their ADHD child's behavior at home. Common challenges include:
- Refusal to cooperate
- Low motivation
- Arguing or oppositional behavior
- Saying “no” to unwanted tasks
- Acting selfishly or disregarding others’ needs
- Treating family members poorly
- Having "meltdowns" when things don't go their way, which in some cases can lead to property destruction or physical aggression
While designed for families of children with ADHD, the practical strategies taught apply to all children, regardless of diagnosis.
What you’ll learn:
- How to introduce daily expectations and structure your child's "currency" (privileges you provide)
- Strengthen behavior and improve how children treat family members
- Help children follow through with routines and expectations
- Build accountability and responsibility
- Help cultivate flexibility
What makes this different?
- Grounded in evidence-informed behavior modification strategies
- Provides clear, step-by-step guidance instead of abstract concepts
- Designed in short, focused modules that work for busy parents (including those with ADHD)
- Cuts out unnecessary or “feel-good” filler and gets straight to what works
- Helps children build confidence by recognizing their true capabilities
What’s included:
All Creating Daily Expectations courses are included within the ADHD Dude Membership, which also grants access to the complete Parent Behavior Training Programs:
- Capable & Confident (for ages 4–7)
- Scaffolding Better Behavior (for ages 8 and up)
Membership also includes access to every ADHD Dude program and the opportunity to participate in live office hours, where you can get your questions answered directly.
You can also watch the course on the ADHD Dude app.
What Parents Just Like You Say
"I have been following you for a while now. I just have to say that your videos and classes have seriously saved our life with our 4th grader. You are clear and concise and give excellent advice that has really helped our family. I am so excited for your new things coming up. All such good stuff!"
"What I appreciate about you most is you tell exactly what needs to be done. I've learned so much over the years about WHY my son struggles but I feel no one can tell me what specifically I need to do in order to help him. You give clear, tangible practices...I feel like I've been screaming for someone to just tell me what it is I need to do. Very, very excited about all of it."
"Your webinar on language and executive function was so good. I'm such a tough customer (I don't say that proudly- I've just seen so much crap n my years of teaching and parenting). You're the real deal."
