Socially Smarter Course

What is Socially Smarter?

Socially Smarter teaches parents how to help their child with ADHD improve social skills using strategies that work.

Research shows that therapy and social skills groups are ineffective for improving social skills in kids with ADHD. That’s because social skills aren’t built by talking about them—they’re learned through practice, feedback, and adult support in everyday situations.

This course helps you address the actual skills your child needs so that they can connect more successfully with peers and navigate social situations with more confidence and flexibility.

Who is this for?

This course is for parents of:

  • Children with ADHD who struggle to make or keep friends

  • Kids who are inflexible during play, overly sensitive to feedback, or become controlling in peer interactions

  • Children who avoid social situations, gravitate toward younger kids, or rely on video games as a social replacement

  • Children or teens who want friendships but seem to have given up on trying.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand why kids with ADHD often struggle socially, even if they’re verbal or outgoing

  • Identify the specific behaviors that are getting in the way of peer relationships

  • Support your child’s social growth through unstructured play, not over-coaching or micromanaging

  • Help your child understand their responsibility in building and sustaining friendships

  • Avoid parenting responses that unintentionally make things harder socially

What makes this different?

  • Targets the foundational social skills kids with ADHD often struggle with—especially perspective-taking (understanding others’ thoughts and feelings, and how they’re coming across to others)

  • Created by a licensed clinical social worker and ADHD specialist who’s worked with thousands of families

  • Developed by a father to a son with ADHD who struggled with similar-age peer relationships

  • Ryan is widely recognized for his work in this area, with articles and webinars on social skills featured on his ADDitude Magazine page

  • Gives parents the tools to help their child make progress where it counts: with real peers in real situations

What’s included:

  • ADHD-specific video lessons broken into short, actionable sections

  • Downloadable PDF resources to support implementation

  • Access to all course content for the duration of your enrollment

What Parents Just Like You Say

"I have been following you for a while now. I just have to say that your videos and classes have seriously saved our life with our 4th grader. You are clear and concise and give excellent advice that has really helped our family. I am so excited for your new things coming up. All such good stuff!"

"What I appreciate about you most is you tell exactly what needs to be done. I've learned so much over the years about WHY my son struggles but I feel no one can tell me what specifically I need to do in order to help him. You give clear, tangible practices...I feel like I've been screaming for someone to just tell me what it is I need to do. Very, very excited about all of it."

"Your webinar on language and executive function was so good. I'm such a tough customer (I don't say that proudly- I've just seen so much crap n my years of teaching and parenting). You're the real deal."
